Scoot is finally making new Malaysian destinations available to the public by opening the ticket sales for Kuching and Kuantan, bringing the total of Scoot’s offering of Malaysian destinations to six cities, including Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Penang.
The flights are scheduled to commence on 29 October 2017 for Kuching (daily) and 2 February 2018 for Kuantan (three times a week) from Singapore. These two destinations are a part of the five new destinations that Scoot has announced back in July, with the other three being Honolulu (USA), Harbin (Northeast China) and Palembang (Indonesia).
According to Scoot’s CEO, Lee Lik Hsin: “Our new destinations will complement our robust Southeast Asia network. As part of our expansion plans, we will continuously identify opportunities to bring the ‘Scootitude’ to more guests in the region.”
Apart from that, the airline also rolled out its first A320 aircraft that was previously operated by Tigerair and repainted it with the Scoot livery, named “Conscious Coupling”, in commemoration of the integration between the two airlines. The current Tigerair fleet will also be progressively repainted and will be completed around the middle of next year.
