Malaysia Aims To Be Software Testing Hub

Malaysia is keen to produce globally competitive software testers and position itself as a regional outsource hub for the lucrative software testing industry.

The Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB) will host SOFTEC 2010 conference, themed “Bridging the Gap,” from 19 – 21 July at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara, Kuala Lumpur, headlined by leading international speakers to share the latest findings on software testing. MSTB is organising the SOFTEC conference for the third consecutive year.

“Our primary aim is to drive the software testing industry, to benefit Malaysian industries, and concurrently turn it into a high income economy,” says Mastura Abu Samah, MSTB’s President.

SOFTEC 2010 is targeting professionals, students, business managers, and the academia keen to gain updated information, insights, and share their experiences on software testing through special seminars and interactive panel sessions with a community of internationally renowned industry leaders. It also serves as an excellent platform for network opportunities for local participants.

This year’s conference seeks to explore software testing advances to define the development pathway for professionals and service providers as a means to confirming Malaysia’s position as a regional testing hub.

Mastura also officially announced key strategic partnerships between MSTB and industry leaders such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, and HP, and the role they play in supporting the development of the Malaysian software testing industry.

SOFTEC 2010 is supported by the Malaysian government through the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) Bhd. and the Department of Standards Malaysia.

Skype CEO to Mark Asian Debut
